Jacob Jurain: Acting Reel
At the age of fifteen, Jacob started his college career at Ulster County Community College as an Early Enrollment Student, where he first worked on two college theater productions. Jacob began his acting career at sixteen when he started working at a variety of small theater shows in and around his hometown of New Paltz, NY. His hard work and dedication to the craft paid off and it secured him work on many student films at the State University of New York at New Paltz. In 2021, at the age of twenty, Jacob received his bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in theatre.
With a great start as an actor in the theater arts, he began working steady as a background performer for network television shows and independent feature films shot in the area, such as 'Poker Face,’ ‘White House Plumbers,’ ‘Smile 2,’ ‘Theater Camp,’ with Ben Platt, ‘Mr and Mrs Smith,’ with Donald Glover and Maya Erskine, and ‘Pretty Little Liars (Original Sin).’
Jacob has written, directed and shot many of his own short films.
Jacob's passion for the dramatics solidified when he was thirteen and saw his first broadway show -- Les Miérables. The feelings that experience evoked inspired him to strive to become an actor and be able to bring some of those same emotions he had felt to others. These experiences have all contributed to the multi dimensional approach that he uses towards his craft. As he has shown since his early teenage years and has never waivered, Jacob understands the amount of work and dedication it will take, and has a goal to one day to make acting his full time job.
